Pre-school Program

Community-based preschool classes are organized in depressed areas where regular half-day sessions per class are held for ten months, to help prepare poor preschoolers for public elementary education. Tie-up arrangements allow the program a nationwide reach. ERDA Group believes that the formative years of a child is a crucial stage in his/her development. Thus, adequate and complete learning intervention must be given or made available to a child. The Community Based Learning Center provides the early childhood learning intervention to children ages 5- 6 years old to prepare their entry to formal school. Basic school supplies are provided and the service fees of qualified teachers who undergo comprehensive trainings, orientation and supervision from ERDA.
ERDA has developed its own curriculum and workbooks which are utilized by these learning centers and even by other NGOs with similar program.
It adopts a counterpart principle wherein the community identifies the venue where the learning center will be set-up and helps in the formation of the Parent-Teachers Organization (PTO) which provides support to the implementation and management of the classroom. Twenty-five (25) children are enrolled in each class.
Since its inception in 1977 up to this day, over 126,000 children enrolled to pre-school, of this number, 116,980 children have graduated and were accepted to enter Grade I. For more information about the project, please contact Tel: (+632) 741.3014email:
