Ako Mismo Partners with ERDA

The organizers of the Ako Mismo movement, together with thousands of youths, trooped to Bonifacio Global City Open Field last June 12, 2009 for the Ako Mismo Dog Tag Day and to join the nation in celebrating Independence Day. Amateur bands and popular groups such as Bamboo, Pupil, The Dawn, Kamikaze, Kjwan, and Up Dharma Down provided music, inspiration,  and entertainment.


Ako Mismo, an advocacy campaign, was initiated through the efforts of Corporate Social Responsibility arm of DDB, a leading advertising network, and is supported by many local figures, celebrities, artists, and bands. Ako Mismo aims to battle against indifference and helplessness, and to promote optimism in the country.

 

The event started with the selling of dog tags that served also as the passport and ticket to the concert venue.


The proceeds of this benefit concert will go to Ako Mismo selected partner charities and NGOs which include ERDA Foundation, Caritas Manila, UN Stand Up Against Poverty, World Vision, Dynamic Teen Company, UP PGH Cancer Institute Foundation, Gawad Kalinga, Cutis Laxa Benefit, PNP Badge of Honor Foundation and others.
