SSS extends help to ERDA TECH's High School Feeding Program
A Memorandum of Agreement was forged between the Social Security System (SSS) and ERDA Tech last December 22, 2009 at the SSS Main Office in Quezon City. The principal signatories were SSS Chairman Ret. Gen. Thelmo Cunanan and Mrs. Jane Natividad, Principal of ERDA Tech. Witnessing the event were Ms. Sonia Guinto, SSS OIC for Corporate Communications, Ms. Emy Nuyda, ET Asst. Principal for Technical Affairs and Mr. Marc Magsalin, ET Asst. Principal for Administration and Student Services.
The agreement stipulates the commitment of the SSS to help ERDA Tech's Feeding program for selected high school students . Under the agreement, SSS will provide monetary assistance beginning January 2010 until the end of this school year. This help will greatly boost ERDA Tech's capacity to provide deserving students with much needed nutritional assistance.
Currently, the feeding program is overseen by the collaborative efforts of the Principal's Office, Guidance Office, Health and Services Unit, and Food Tech Area. Representatives of the SSS on the other hand, are expected to visit ERDA Tech regularly as part of their monitoring scheme.
Through this joint partnership, it is hoped that the student-beneficiaries' will be more motivated to come to school regularly thus, contributing to their success after graduation.
On behalf of the ERDA Tech Community, we thank the SSS for their generosity and we look forward to stronger partnerships in the future.
One Buling-Buling Festival to Remember This year's Buling-Buling Festival, an annual tradition on the eve of the feast of the Sto. Nino in Pandacan, was marked with the participation of the ERDA Tech Faculty and Staff and employees of Chevron. The generous assistance coming from Chevron provided everyone a chance to don colorful costumes. As the parade started, so did the non-stop dancing along the streets of Pandacan. Students of ERDA Tech eagerly watched and cheered their teachers all throughout. To the surprise of many, the school was awarded first runner-up and a cash incentive. Indeed, this was an affair to remember. With ERDA Tech's participation, it is hoped that community awareness of the school's mission in the area had been raised.
Viva Sto. Nino!
