History

In response to a report published in 1965 on the alarming dropout rate in the public school system, Fr. Pierre Tritz,SJ at the age of 60, gave up his French citizenship in 1974 in order to become a naturalized Filipino citizen and founded the Educational Research and Development Assistance (ERDA) Foundation...

Our Founder

Fr. Pierre Tritz, SJ, a French-born Jesuit priest was born on September 19, 1914 in Bouzonville, in the Lorraine region of eastern France. He entered the Society of Jesus in October 1933 at the age of 19. Upon his request, he was sent to China in 1936 where he continued his studies and worked as a missionary until 1948.
